Surprisingly the well pump was still primed so we did not have to do that. If I had know there was still water available up there, I would have made the trek up for a weekend or two this summer. We had a late lunch at our favorite restaurant in Plymouth. Dennis had his usual marinated steak tips, some delicious clam chowder and steamers. I had to have the crab cakes. They are the best that I have had ANYWHERE! The seafood at this little restaurant is marvelous and it amazes me as they are HOURS from the ocean. I had some crab cakes while we were in PA on vacation and they were advertised as Chesapeake Bay crab cakes. They were SO SALTY that I couldn't finish them. Today Ryan left on his annual trip with the church group down to the Bible camp in NC. As if I don't have enough to worry about, we now have an elevated terrorist level and there is a tropical depression headed towards NC. I'll feel better once I hear that they arrive safely. Work is still insane. A new restaurant/complex is slated to open on 8/18. They have pulled all of the construction workers from other projects to complete this one by then. It is utter chaos. If you want to know what the project is, email me and I will tell you. Let's just say that it is a major nationwide franchise that will no doubt pull in thousands of customers. Work is sucking the life out of me lately. I'm so busy and I still have to deal with Sybil (my new nickname for crazy BT) that I am exhausted in spite of just having had a vacation. I plan on staying late a few nights this week to get caught up since I don't have to drive with Ryan. It's month end, quarter end, and we are in the last quarter of this fiscal year. Can you say REPORTS? It's been very humid lately and I really don't want to touch any fiber. But I've been spinning (sitting in front of the fan) some wool and silk blend that I purchased last year in NH. It's a muted green and pale earth tones roving. I have no idea what I will use it for. I purchased the day that I bought my spinning wheel and I had stuck it in the drawer until I rediscovered it this week. I haven't carded any more of the fleeces. It's just been so hot and humid! I really must get them done. Rhinebeck is only a couple of months away. I'm trying to convince Dennis to get a hotel room so we can stay up there over night. It would be a good get away for us. He said that he enjoyed himself last year when we went. It's only a 2 hour drive, but by mid-October I should have completely lost my mind with work. I will really need to get away. If he doesn't go for it, maybe I'll just go by myself. I should probably start thinking about Christmas presents soon. I know several people that I would like to make hats for. I need to get going! Time to get off of here and go spin! So much fiber, so little time.
