Still waiting to hear about the job with the subsidiary of the Emerald City.

Weather: Temperatures in the 90's F.  Sunny and very,VERY humid.

They have declared the drought is over.  Our water levels are back up to where they should be.

Dennis, Bailey and I went up to the cabin on Saturday.  It was a long, slow ride as we were towing the trailer with the lawn tractor on it.  At one point in Vermont, my car started to smoke and we thought we would need to return home.  Thankfully, I think it was just due to some bad gas in the take as the car had been backfiring during the week.  We made it up and back home without further incident.  Dennis finally built a new box to cover the well pump.  The pump is outside and needs to be protected from the weather.  The box is about the size of a large dog house and it should last a long while.  He also mowed the grass so the property would not appear to be abandoned.  I asked him if he wanted me to help him with the projects and he told me no.  I had no other choice but to stay in the cabin and quilt.  It was very restful.

We went out to our favorite restaurant and enjoyed a good meal at dinnertime.  I never tire of their crab cakes and they are always wonderful.

My hip is feeling better thanks to the anti-inflammatory medication.  The doctor told me that it make take several refills of the drugs to clear the problem up.

I went back to the Jack the Therapist Friday night.  I hadn't been to see him since sometime in June.  I told him how in the past people have told me that I am artistic and creative.  I used to oil paint but I gave it up when I was pregnant as I didn't think it was a good idea to breath in all of the fumes.  I've never been able to see myself as creative or artistic.  Artists do not come from poor families from the North end of Hartford.  They are born to wealthy families, live in Guilford and are named Mona or Evelyn.  They are thin, have hair that looks good even when it isn't combed and they can wear almost anything because they are "artists".  They are referred to as eccentric not crazy.

Anyway, Jack agrees that I need to get creative again.  As he put it, I need to find "pockets of joy and satisfaction" since I get no sense of fulfillment from work.  So, I'm quilting again and I WILL FINISH that blue and yellow quilt in the near future.

Work is about the same.  I've been busy with my quarterly reports.  Tomorrow should be pleasant because #1 Boss is out!  Woo hoo!

Today I am thankful for:

1:  The smell of hay, even when it makes me sneeze.
2:  The sound of thunder when the storm is off in the distance.
3:  French Bread Pizza.
4:  The feel of a warm rain on a summer evening.
5:  Wonderful colors of a stained glass window.
