How about Inner Sanctum, Green Hornet, Boston Blacky, Red Rider & Beaver and Hop-Along Cassidy?
Remember Roy Rogers & Dale Evens and their side kick was Gabby Hays. Nelibell was the Jeep's name, the dog was named Bullet and the horse was Trigger?
I used to love Boston Blacky when that went to TV. I was most interested in the detective stories.
Remember how every Saturday and Sunday we would watch these shows and then in the afternoon Baseball would come on? Oh, how we hated all the sports and wanted more of the other programs. Sports dominated the TV in those days. Boxing was on Saturday and the bouts were advertised by Gillette Blue Blades and Paps Blue Ribbon Beer.
We were the first family
in our neighborhood to own a TV. I remember how excited we
all were! We thought that we were so RICH to have one. Dad
was always adjusting the antenna on it and we hated him doing that so often.
He was so funny when he got that plastic sheet to put over the screen and
told us that now we have Colored TV. That piece of plastic had different
colored stripes on it--green on the bottom, tan in the middle and blue
on the top. I didn't know why he was so excited because it didn't
show real color and we knew that.
